SAFARI MAN

Ethan sported his new safari outfit the other day, and of course mom and dad couldn't resist a good photo op.

I THOUGHT THEY'D NEVER LEAVE!

So mommy, daddy, and Ethan were watching TV in bed one night. When mom and dad came back after brushing their teeth and taking Bear out, Ethan had claimed the whole bed for himself. At least he looks comfortable.

THE SMILES OF ETHAN

So Ethan has a few different smiles. Above is the "I like that face that you're making" smile.
This is the "Oh this is lots of fun let me hide my face" smile.
And this is the "look at my gums" smile. I should add that I decided not to include the "this is the last smile you get because you keep flashing that camera in my face" smile.

SLEEPY TIME

After all the smiling all day, Ethan asked to be wrapped up an put in bed.

Yeah, it may look like he's trying to get away from mom. But really, Ethan's just trying to show everyone how well he can control his head. Isn't he doing a great job?

Yes, Ethan has officially hit his smiley phase. He likes to smile, especially when you make faces at him.

Ethan's been showing off his smile lately. And of course, there's plenty to smile about. The doctor said at his last appointment he's developing well. He's two months old now and sizing out at 24 inches and he weighed in at 12 pound, 15 ounces. So, yeah, he's a big kid so far.

DANGER!

Yes, Ethan's pants say DANGER across the butt area. Here he is with mom, happy to be home after a day at daycare.

BINKY MY BINKY

Ethan really enjoys his binky. I think it might be because he really can't do too much else at this point. Here he is, with mom and his binky!

READY FOR BED

Ethan was in his PJs hanging out with dad, just waiting to go to sleep. The little guy's been doing pretty good. Save two nights this weekend when he had a little sniffle, he's been making it from about 9:30 to about 4:30.

BOOTS IS STILL HERE, TOO

Not to be forgotten herself, Boots has been spending most of her time by the windows these days. It's getting nicer here (in the 60s this week) and she likes watching the kids and other animals.

TOO COOL

Yes, in these shots Ethan posed with his Too Cool one-piece outfit. Fashionable and comfortable for today's modern baby, courtesy of Old Navy. I figure if he's so willing to pose for these pictures, he might as well be willing to be our little model for now.

THE SUPERMAN

Ethan strikes this pose quite often. Mom likes to think he looks like he's trying to be Superman.

MY DOGGY

Since the frisbee experience was a little embarrassing for Bear, she thought the best way to get on the webpage might be with Ethan, instead of in spite of him. So, her, Ethan, and dad layed together on the bed...and Bear gave her newest human a kiss.

SHE DID IT TO HERSELF

So, Bear was getting a little upset she'd lost so much attention, especially on the webpage. Her course of action? Apparently get her frisbee, which she tore apart, stuck around her neck. Yes, she did it to herself. And so she gets her own little corner of the webpage this week...for being a dork.

SITTING LIKE A BIG GUY

At first, Ethan didn't like sitting on the sofa like a big boy, all by himself...
But once he got his binky, he decided it wasn't so bad after all.

FUN IN MY PLAY YARD

Ethan can usually keep himself pretty occupied by staring at his mobile while he's in his play yard. But when someone plays with him, too, he just loves it!

LOOKING AT THE CAMERA

Ethan stayed with mom while she was in the computer room the other day. He was intrigued by the flash in his face and stared at it for a while...until he started to cry.

Tara says Ethan loves his bouncy chair...This picture supports JR's thought that her claim might not be so on target...But he usually does OK

BABY-ZILLA

Yeah, he's huge...that's pretty much my response whenever someone asks how the baby is. You can see here how big he's getting. He's into number 2 diapers now. He's got a 2-month checkup in two weeks. We'll get the official word on how big he is then.

NAKED BOY!

While he's still not thrilled with the process, Ethan is getting more used to his baths. Plus, this picture gives us great blackmail material when he starts dating.

PARTING SHOT

Max and Sharon posed with Ethan for one last picture before they headed back to the states. I think they had fun, although Max may have been perminately scarred from the drive to Seoul. They both got home safe and sound.

GETTING BIGGER AND SMILING

As you can see, Ethan just keeps getting bigger. Dad got a pretty good closeup of him smiling, too, while he was waking up. Why he's smiling, well, we'll let you guess about that one.

GRAMPY AND GRAMMY

Ethan got some company this week and found two new family members to hold him. Grammy and Grampy Houser kept raving about how well behaved this little boy was. He was just happy to meet them.

POST BATH

Usually after Ethan finishes his bath, he gets a little massage with lotion and looks like this...
But every now and then he makes a face like this...
But he's not sure why, so then sometimes he'll look like this...
Until Mom finally picks him up...then all is right in the world again.

ETHAN'S CRIB

Well, yes, one of these pictures is literally his crib. But it's also the slang for his room. You can see he's got an extensive library, a colorful blanket hanging on the wall, and colorful pictures and blocks his mommy painted for him.

Ethan and dad were just hanging out with Bear the other day when Mom decide to snap a picture. Everyone looks content.

So Ethan looked like he was sleeping and Tara was thinking about sleep. Either way, it was too cute a picture to pass up.
